We tend to think of healing as something binary: either we’re broken or we’re healed from that brokenness. But that’s not how healing operates, and it’s almost never how human growth works. More often, healing and growth take place on a continuum, with innumerable points between utter brokenness and total health

Hello! My name is Crystal Tierney. 


I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) working from a trauma theory, body-centered and anti-oppressive framework. I take special interest in working with young adult womxn identifying folks who are survivors of relational trauma, childhood trauma or complex trauma. 


Area's of exploration may include befriend the body, addressing negative self talk, living with with heightened feelings, bodily sensations, or numbness. Together we can work with body based and mindfulness approaches, along with drawing upon your own restorative practices. I am passionate about instilling an anti-oppressive, empowering, collective healing framework into my practice. Here, all parts of the self are welcome. 

I am a compassionate, open-minded, and radically accepting practitioner, residing on Algonquin, Anishinabek land (otherwise known as Ottawa, Ontario). 

I hold an M.A. in Counselling Psychology, and I have continued training in trauma sensitive mindfulness, narrative therapy approaches to trauma, Internal Family System's Informed and polyvagal approaches to therapy (postponed to April 2021). I am currently completing my 300h Trauma Centre Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Certification, expected completion date of March 2021.
